Our Roots

Grounded in Research

Jamestown Community Learning Council was established after a two-year period of extensive research conducted by an Education Task Force.

The Task Force’s work made clear that interest in education and performance as a student is established very early in life. It is the outside influences of a child’s environment which affect how he or she will perform as a student even before entering school.

This research and expert knowledge formed the foundation of the Jamestown Community Learning Council.

Two children huddled over their school work. One is writing with a pencil.
